Climax KM machines for milling keyways

Why mill keyways in the workshop when you can do it on site? These two- or three-axis machines from Climax mill keyways on shafts or other types of milling operations. The KM machines can be mounted in any position as the gearbox is enclosed.

In the series of keyway milling machines you will find two different sizes of machine, KM3000 which is 2-axis and KM4000 which is 3-axis. These keyway milling machines are compact, robust, powerful and mobile, they are suitable for on-site use when machining keyways and other milling jobs, but can of course be used in a workshop for other milling jobs.

The machine is equipped with self-centering and lining V-base.

Together they cover shaft dimensions from Ø19.1-609.6 mm using additional accessories like shim kit and chain tensioner.

The V-base on the KM3000 is notched which allows the machine to require only 38.1 mm of the shaft end to be mounted and still machine all the way out to the shaft end, total stroke is 152.4 mm.

KM4000 The machine only needs 215.9 mm of the shaft end to be mounted or 266.7 mm of the shaft to be mounted next to the nearest obstacle.

The total stroke is 200 mm and with a lateral movement of 50.8 mm, it allows milling of keyways up to a width of 82.6 mm.

The most common machine is an electric version, but it can also be purchased with a pneumatic or hydraulic motor if desired.

Efficient operation with high quality components.

Feeding is by hand crank, via trapezoidal thread and bearing with roller bearings while the precision ground bevel gear ensures smooth operation. The machine is equipped with salmon grooves for accurate machining ability. The KM3000 is equipped with a weldon-16 spindle mount and the KM4000 with a weldon-20 spindle mount.

The cutting depth can be controlled via the adjustable scale, incrementing by 0.1 mm.

Thanks to the lubricated and enclosed gearbox, the machine can be used regardless of the position of the axle.

The electronic control box gives you full control of the speed while maintaining full torque over the entire speed range.
