LINX AS

Latest generation of mechanical pipe couplings

About LiNX | AS - mechanical pipe couplings

LiNX AS is the latest generation of mechanical pipe couplings that use a hydraulic installation tool to press the coupling and pipe together. This cold pressing method creates a metal joint which is a permanent joining method replacing welding.

LiNX AS is designed in accordance with ASME B31.1 and is tested according to ASTM F1387 and type approved by Lloyds Register. The couplings are supplied with material certificates and full traceability.

Advantages of LiNX | AS technology

handyman

User-friendly

  • Easy to do a quick and flawless installation
  • No gaskets or o-rings, 100% metal-to-metal seal
  • No complicated assembly process
  • Install and "forget" the installation
  • After a short training, you can make a perfect installation
security

Security and safety

  • No hot work
  • No welding or soldering
  • No threaded or screwed connection
  • LiNX AS is a fireproof installation
  • Requires a minimal installation space
tune

Adaptable

  • Works on seamless pipes and pipes with seams
  • Can be used on pipes with small wall thickness
  • Available in inch and metric sizes
  • Available in both black and stainless steel couplings
schedule

Long life span

  • Improved corrosion resistance
  • High pressure capacity
  • Insensitive to vibrations and pulsations in a pipe system
  • LiNX AS means that the pipe joint is no longer the weakest part of the pipe system
  • Requires a minimal installation space

How LiNX AS works

  1. Insert the pipe into the coupling
  2. The outer press ring is pressed axially against the coupling tool flange using the specially adapted installation tool
  3. Inside the coupling, the sealing rings are pressed against the pipe and a gas-tight connection is formed, completely metal to metal

Installation

Preparation

Preparation

  • Cut the pipe as straight as possible +/-5° checked with the interpreter
  • Sand around the pipe with emery cloth 60#
  • Grind the sealing zone which is 1 ½ x the outer diameter
  • Using a fingernail, check the surface of the pipe for longitudinal scratches
  • Degree of inner and outer diameter of the pipe end
  • Check the outside diameter of the pipe with the interpreter
  • Using the interpreter, mark the installation and inspection mark on the pipe
Install

Install

  • Insert the pipe into the coupling
  • Check the position of the installation mark, that it is half visible
  • Press the press ring against the tool flange using the hydraulic installation tool
Check

Check

  • Check that the press ring is fully pressed against the coupling tool flange
  • Check that half of the inspection mark and the full installation mark are visible
