EST-Group Curtiss-Wright products
Pop-A-Plug® is the name of one of EST Group’s premier products, the plugs are the industry’s leading technology for plugging leaking or deteriorating heat exchanger tubes.
These plugs offer a permanent solution that is quick to install. Different models are available in different metals and alloys, which minimizes the risk of deformation or cracking in adjacent tubes and the tube sheet. As the installation is a cold working method without welding, thermal stresses are avoided. The plugs can be installed with a manual mechanical tool or with a hydraulic tool in conjunction with a pneumatically driven pump or battery powered tool.
They are available in models that can withstand working pressures up to 483 bar (higher pressures available on request) without welding or other hot work. Meets requirements recommended as a preferred repair method according to ASME PCC-2. The plugs can be supplied with material certificates with full traceability. Pop-A-Plug tube stabilizers are also available for stabilizing broken or severed heat exchanger tubes.
GripTight test and insulation plugs
EST Group also designs and manufactures a number of variants of different test plugs intended for testing at very high pressures. Examples include GripTight® test and isolation plugs, which are designed to significantly simplify and speed up pressure testing and/or isolation of pipelines, hoses, valves, pressure vessels and a variety of specialty applications.
GripTight Max test plugs are used for high pressure testing of pipes, tubes and pressure vessels. Safe and effective at working pressures up to 1034 bar. Versions with OD and ID seals are available. Are also approved for air or gas pressure testing.
